Peripheral Drive Clarifier
The peripheral drive clarifier, also called a peripheral traction clarifier, serves medium and large circular sedimentation tanks with central inflow, peripheral outflow, and central sludge discharge. The peripheral-drive clarifier collects and discharges floor sludge from the primary sedimentation tanks of municipal wastewater treatment plants. As part of sedimentation and clarification equipment, it supports continuous solids settling and sludge removal.
The ZBG-type sludge scraper utilizes a peripheral drive mechanism, wherein wastewater enters at the tank center and spreads toward the perimeter through a flow guide device, and suspended solids settle to the tank floor under gravity. The drive unit moves the bridge of the rotating bridge clarifier along the tank perimeter and turns the scraper blades. The blades scrape floor sludge from the perimeter to the central sludge hopper, where hydrostatic pressure in the tank discharges it through the sludge pipe. A scum skimmer assembly collects and discharges floating scum from the surface, and the supernatant flows over the peripheral outlet weir into the effluent channel.
