Rotating Biological Contactor (RBC) System

The rotating biological contactor (RBC) sewage treatment system treats domestic sewage and certain biodegradable industrial wastewater from rural villages and townships, residential communities, and small industrial and mining enterprises. The RBC sewage treatment system is suitable for decentralized wastewater treatment projects and serves as biological treatment equipment for small sewage treatment systems.

The RBC wastewater treatment plant utilizes an attached-growth biofilm process, wherein the core consists of a rotor assembly and a layer of biofilm on the disc surfaces. As the discs turn slowly, the attached microorganisms alternately contact wastewater and air, taking up pollutants and oxygen which carry out biodegradation of organic matter and some nitrogen-containing pollutants.

Selection Parameters
  • Single-unit treatment capacity: 5 to 500 m³/d (expandable by connecting multiple units in parallel)
  • Filtration precision (biodegradation efficiency): BOD₅ surface loading rate 10–20 g/(m²·d)
  • Disc rotation speed: 2 to 5 r/min
  • Equipment power: 0.55 to 7.5 kW
  • Main body material: SS304 stainless steel, carbon steel with epoxy anti-corrosion coating
  • Automation level: PLC automatic control with remote monitoring interface

Note: The above parameters are standard ranges and can be customized to specific project requirements.

Features
  • Discs alternately contact wastewater and air as they rotate, wherein oxygen is transferred from the air.
  • Liquid-level and flow monitoring instruments together with a PLC control system, can be configured for automatic start or stop and operating-status monitoring.
  • Remote communication system available depending on project requirements, for viewing operating data and adjustment of process parameters.
